He won the Nobel peaceprize and he was symbol of a peacemaker in 1993.Mandela was born into the Maida clan in the village of Mezzo, Transkei, on 18 July 1918. He completed his Junior Certificate at Clarkebury Boarding Institute and went on to Healdton, a Wesleyan secondary school of some repute, where he matriculatedhe had a rich sense of African self-governmentand heritage.
